Where can I hear you play?
If you are considering hiring me for an event or a wedding and would like to hear my music, feel free to visit my page that features samples of my music.  Simply click on the Samples section to the left of this page.
Also, if you would instead like a complimentary CD to listen to, please feel free to request one and I would be more than happy to send one to you!
Will the place you’re playing need a piano?
If the piano on the site is tuned and in good shape, I will love using it.  If the site doesn’t have a piano I will bring my modern state-of-the-art digital keyboard with amplifiers/speakers.  This keyboard can sound like a perfectly tuned ultimate grand piano all the way to a grand cathedral church organ.

What are your prices?

Please see my rates pages by clicking on one of the Rates links to the left of this page.

What is your overtime rate?

$100 per hour overtime or prorated.

Please see my rates pages by clicking on one of the Rates links to the left of this page.

How much time for you to set up?

I’ll typically need about an hour if I need to set up my own keyboard and amplifier/speakers.  Will need electricity available as well.   If the piano is already there, I’ll only need about ½ an hour or less. I do not charge for setup time.

How much room do you need to set up your equipment if needed?

I’ll need at least a 6 x 6 foot area for my portable piano and the ability to plug into electricity fairly close to where I set up.

Do you provide a contract?

Yes, I provide a typed contract for events and weddings that is agreed upon and signed by myself and the client.  I’ll simply email or mail it to you, whichever you prefer.

What is the required deposit to secure your services?

A 50% non-refundable deposit reserves the date for your event with the balance due at or before the event.  We book up to 18 months in advance of an event.

When is the balance due?

The balance is due before or on the day of your event or wedding.  It’s best if you prefer to pay the balance before the event, that way it’s one less detail you’ll have to deal with on the day of the event.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash or check, made payable to Tim Bachman.

Do you travel outside of the New Orleans region and what do you charge for travel expenses?

Mileage:  No charge within the Northshore, New Orleans, Metairie, Mandeville, Slidell, Covington, Hammond, Picayune or the Mississippi Gulf Coast areas.  Mileage beyond that range is 50 cents/mile for any miles I drive over a total of 80 round trip miles, based on Google Map’s door-to-door estimates from my house in Mandeville, LA.  For example, if the total round trip mileage is 100 miles, that is 20 total miles over my limit of 80………….. (20 miles over my limit of 80) X (.50)= $10 extra.  In other words, just take the total miles OVER the number 80.  Divide that number by two.  That’s the number!

What is your attire?

I usually wear a white shirt with a blue blazer and dress pants.  I also wear suit and tie.  If the event calls for it I will wear formalwear.  For Holiday and Christmas parties, I will wear black suit and tie.  After discussing your event, my attire will be appropriate to your specific event.

What is your policy on taking breaks?

I’ll need a simple 10 minute break per hour played, but if for some reason your requirements are different, I will be more than happy to work with you.

Would you learn a song you don’t know?

Absolutely yes!  It’s fun for me to learn new songs.  I will also learn new songs as an accompanist for someone as well.

Do you attend wedding rehearsals?

     Absolutely!
